Our purpose is to help to bring about a clearer understanding of the interrelationship of all life on earth, emphasizing the need for sustainable use of all the earth’s resources, including the human community, and to support the development of practical means to do so.
Values and Orientation
Respect for diversity and the Quaker tradition of listening to the voices of others, as well as a deep appreciation of the gifts of nature are all values at the heart of Mohonk Consultations. People with a range of perspectives attend our programs, which offer direct opportunities for meaningful exchange among all participants. Mohonk’s ridgetop setting within thousands of acres of preserved land provides an immediate experience of the beauty of nature.
In an era of uncertainty and rapid change, Mohonk Consultations values and engages in collaborative efforts to build stronger communities with resilient and sustainable systems. It is ever more crucial for people to come together, discuss issues, and explore solutions. We are proud to carry on the legacy of Mohonk’s tradition of creating opportunities for the meaningful and productive exchange of ideas.
Mohonk Consultations is committed to a more civil, equitable and just society in a world where there are profound imbalances of power in wealth, influence, and decision-making. We commit to embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout our organization. Welcoming diverse perspectives, our programs seek to amplify underrepresented voices. This values statement and our efforts to improve our organization are a long-term work in progress.
