Join us on Sunday, Sept. 20, for a captivating documentary that celebrates the remarkable variety of life in the Hudson Valley—from high-elevation forests to the globally rare tidal marshes along the Hudson estuary.
As part of this year’s “Hiker’s Holiday” weekend at Mohonk, Mohonk Consultations presents The Nature of Nature: Biodiversity in the Hudson Valley. This recent film explores extraordinary living fabric of our region’s diverse landscapes: plants, animals, and people that call the Hudson Valley home. Directed by Emmy-award winning Laura deNey and produced by Flicker Filmworks in partnership with Laura Heady at the DEC Hudson River Estuary Program and Cornell University, The Nature of Nature captures the beautiful, the complex, the familiar, and the unknown.
Following the screening of this 30-minute documentary, local conservationist and Mohonk Consultations Board member Cara Lee will answer questions about the film and lead a discussion.
People in the Hudson Valley recognize they live in this amazing place… but they aren’t aware of the intricacies of how incredible it is. Our film is meant to give people space to be in awe, to celebrate what we have here.
